The Radio city Rockattes
Tubbys dad said, "Dress up today. Youre going somewhere very
special." Tubby thought the picnic had been fun, but he wasnt sure he wanted to
go today.
Bandit picked up Tubby in the limo. On the way back to Kittys, they stopped at a
place called "Formal Wear." "We must get you some different clothes,"
said Bandit.
Tubby didnt understand, he had on his very best. Bandit picked out a tuxedo and top
hat. Tubby took one look and thought, "I cant wear that," as Bandit led
him to a dressing room and left him to try the suit.
Tubby looked at the suit and remembered. When Granny Creamsicle wanted him
to try something he didnt want to, they would always compromise. He wasnt sure
what compromise meant, but thought he would try it. He put on the shirt, jacket, and top
hat. He was not going to give up his overalls. When Tubby came out of the dressing room,
Bandit chuckled to himself. He seemed to understand. He would not try to force Tubby to
give up his overalls.
After picking up Nanny Snickers and Kitty Witty, they were off to Radio City Music Hall to
see the famous Rockattes. Kitty wore one of her many best dresses. She thought she looked
pretty. She tried not to laugh at Tubby Tabby with his top hat, tuxedo jacket, and bib
overalls. But she did giggle a little.
When the performance started, Tubby was glad he came. He wished Granny Creamsicle and
Pappy Sage could see this. He had never seen anything like it Tubby thought, "Wow,
they are great." Kitty Witty thought, "I can do that, even
better." Nanny Snickers thought, "I wish Tubby would remove his hat."
Bandit thought, "I am so lucky to have such a great job."
The Rockattes danced and kicked, danced and kicked.
It's a Fact: Radio City Music Hall first
opened its massive doors in December of 1932. It is located on Sixth Avenue.
